Mockingbird Public Theatre
Addy Award Winner
Featured in The Design Authority Magazine
Mockingbird Theatre was a fledgling professional troupe with the need to make a big splash on a small budget. So keying off their namesake – the Tennessee state bird – I designed their season brochure as a “Birdwatchers Field Guide.” With hand work supplied by the theatre company members, it was an interactive piece that one discovered piece by piece, complete with an expedition map, a reminder calendar, and Audubon-like cards for each play of the season.
The piece created major buzz in the Nashville arts community, with shelf life lasting even years. It won the client an Addy Award and sponsorship from a paper company, and it was chosen by Domtar Papers as an example of excellence in design. The creative process for this piece was featured in The Design Authority Magazine.
